How I meet Standard No. 3I've only recently begun my journey into using technology and digital resources as an educator. However, I am already eagerly awaiting the moment I step into the classroom so I can begin utilizing all of my knew tech savvy knowledge for the benefit of my students and their families. This website serves as a culmination of my digital know-how and will continue to develop as I delve further into the world of education technology. Although I have earned some experience with Twitter, Google Apps, iMovie, Kahoot, and WebQuest, I am particularly excited to start learning how to code. With the expansion of the "Hour of Code" curriculum in today's elementary schools, I believe it would be wise to make sure I have working knowledge and capabilities to explain these concepts to my students. Another avenue for bringing tech to the classroom is through communication with parents. I strive to make this an accessible website to my students and their families with valuable resources and current, relevant information. Below I have included a link to my "Tech Tools" page where everyone can seek my highly recommended digital resources for learning and digital work.
Recently I have realized the rich engagement opportunity through the creation of instructional and professional development videos. You can view a sample of my editing work below for a PD overview of my explanation of multicultural education. In this digital age, it is also very apparent to me that the educator must know how to ascertain and evaluate student data. For first steps into digital data collection, I have designed a few sample quizzes utilizing Google Forms. An example of this application can be found below. Google Forms is an intuitive design interface for building assessments. There are numerous options for the final product from multiple choice questions to essays. You can even include images, graphs, or charts. Once students begin taking the quiz, Google Forms automatically creates assessment data for you to synthesize. Other applications with similar capabilities include Kahoot and Socrative (You can discover those on my "Tech Tools" page). |
